Plainfield 1, Batavia 0: Joe Lotarskigoal scored off Justin Arabadjief’s assist and Ryan Manning posted a 13-save shutout as Plainfield (14-5, 9-4) defeated Batavia (16-3-1, 11-1) for the first time ever.

Bradley 8, Rich Central 1: Bradley (16-2, 11-1) clinched at least a tie for the SICA South title as Dave Kruse scored six goals, tying a school record.

Tinley Park 7, Kankakee 6 (OT): In a SICA South shootout, Josh Spengler scored three goals, including the game-winner, for Tinley Park (3-16, 3-7).

Shepard 10, Thornton 0: Brent Gromala’s four goals and Mark Jagodzinski’s and Drew Epperson’s shared shutout lifted Shepard (13-2-3) in non-conference play.

Oak Forest 3, Joliet 1: John Salwierak’s goal and assist powered Oak Forest (12-5, 7-5) in the SICA West.

Homewood-Flossmoor 3, Thornwood 1: Jason Star scored twice and Ben Galatz had his sixth shutout for H-F (10-6-1).

Lincoln-Way 3, Stagg 1: Roby Marshall (goal, assist), Loran Nordgren (goal) and Chris Mural (goal) paced Lincoln-Way (11-4-4, 10-1-1) in the SICA crossover.

St. Rita 3, Gordon Tech 2 (2 OT): Brian See scored all three goals and Jaime Delgado stopped 25 shots for Rita (4-13-1, 2-7) in the Catholic League.

Volleyball

Stagg d. Lincoln-Way: Stagg (22-6, 8-0) stayed unbeaten in SICA West play, prevailing 15-10, 11-15, 15-5 as Becky Hart and Janelle Hart had 11 kills apiece and Nicole Sisk added 29 assists.

Morris d. Kaneland: Morris (18-6-3, 6-1) won the Suburban Prairie White contest 13-15, 15-7, 15-6 as Cheryl Prindiville had 11 assists and 12 digs and Shelly Kleinmaier 15 assists and five kills.

Thornwood d. Homewood-Flossmoor: Joyce Farbak’s six kills and 10 digs and Kristen Holverson’s 10 assists propelled Thornwood (19-8, 8-0) to a 15-10, 15-10 sweep.

Lockport d. Andrew: Erin Casey’s three aces, 24 assists and six digs and Stephanie Jackson’s 12 kills led Lockport (17-9, 5-2) in the SICA West 15-2, 15-9.

Bradley d. Rich Central: Bradley (21-5-1, 8-0) clinched at least a share for the SICA South title behind Jenny Dockemeyer’s eight kills and Shannon Smith’s 13 assists.

Bremen d. Oak Forest: Bremen (20-9, 9-2) won the SICA Central match 15-4, 15-11 as Bridget Luby had 24 assists and Jodi Connell 10 kills.

Batavia d. Plainfield: Batavia (14-10, 3-4) beat Plainfield in Suburban Prairie Red play for the fifth time in 34 meetings behind Jenny Zagorski’s 14 kills and Claudia Rech’s 19 assists.
